SKS Heart Pawject launched in Vizag as India’s first dedicated pet heart screening camp — specialist consult, ECG, blood pressure, echocardiography, and thoracic X-ray at camp rates. Hyderabad followed with Heart + Eye together. The next city will be announced soon.

What a screening includes
Specialist consult
A veterinarian reviews history, breed risk, and clinical signs before any test.
ECG
Electrocardiogram to detect abnormal heart rhythms that a stethoscope can miss.
Blood pressure
Hypertension screening — often linked to cardiac and kidney disease.
Echocardiography
Hospital-grade ultrasound of the heart muscle, valves, and chambers.
Thoracic X-ray
Assesses heart size and whether the lungs are already involved.
Eye screening
Hyderabad edition also included FDT, STT, IOP, ocular ultrasound, and ophthalmoscopy when indicated.
Heart + Eye Pawject
The second city combined cardiac and ophthalmic screening. Heart investigations plus FDT, STT, IOP, ocular ultrasound, and ophthalmoscopy when indicated — because silent disease is not only in the chest.

Yes. Cardiac screening remains available year-round at SKS hospitals. Request an in-clinic appointment and mention heart screening for a senior pet, a high-risk breed, or a quiet change in stamina.
Which pets should be screened? ▼
Senior dogs, high-risk breeds, cats that may hide hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, and any pet with reduced stamina, coughing, or fainting. 1 in 10 dogs in primary care have heart disease; most show nothing until it is late.
